Clean Out Your Computer Day

In our digital world, it is important to take care of our most important digital tool – our computers.

Use today as a reminder for you and your team to clean up your computers. Make it a companywide event. Provide your team with canned air and electronic screen wipes. Hand out certificates for “Most Improved” or “Cleaning Desktop”.

Here are some things that you can do to insure continued health and cleanliness of your computer:

• Run a virus scan
• Delete programs or apps that you no longer use
• Delete browser history and internet cookies
• Clean out your hard drive fans and connections on your PC
• Clean up your other computer components including keyboard, mouse and monitors

If you have an IT staff, you should consult with them on other items to address and have them be involved with this event. Find ways to have them interact positively with your team to care for their computers. Create better communication avenues with IT instead of just when computer issues arise.
